UU Cleanup is an Android phone cleanup and device information tool. This Privacy Policy explains how we process information when you use features such as safe one-tap cleanup, media scan, document scan, APK package scan, large file scan, downloads scan, similar photo comparison, battery information, phone information, language settings, ratings, and feedback.
When you actively start a scan, the app may read file names, file paths, file sizes, file types, modification dates, and thumbnails to display scan results, preview content, and let you select cleanup items. Media scanning may process photos, screenshots, videos, and audio files. File scanning may process documents, APK/XAPK installation packages, large files, and files in the downloads folder. Similar photo scanning may use thumbnails or image information to group similar pictures. Battery information may include battery level, charging status, health status, voltage, temperature, and battery type. Phone information may include brand, model, Android version, API level, CPU ABI, memory, storage, screen resolution, screen density, and uptime. If you submit feedback, we may process the email address and feedback content you provide.
Photo, video, and audio permissions are used only when you use the corresponding media scanning features. Storage read permission on older Android versions is used to scan and preview files. On Android 11 and above, scans for documents, APK packages, large files, and downloads may require “all files access” because these file categories usually cannot be fully accessed through media permissions alone. Package query permission may be used to determine installed app status and identify installation leftovers. Network permission is used for network status checks and feedback submission. Battery and phone information come from Android system interfaces. The app does not need to read contacts, SMS, call logs, precise location, camera, or microphone.
Scanning analysis, preview, and cleanup selection are designed to happen locally on your device by default. The app does not silently scan in the background. Files are not deleted before you confirm. After you confirm cleanup, related files may be permanently deleted from device storage depending on the Android version and file type.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not upload your personal files, media content, document content, or complete device file lists for advertising purposes. Feedback information that you actively submit is used only to handle issues, improve the product, and provide support. Except where required by laws and regulations, necessary to protect users or service security, or necessary to provide support services, we do not disclose related information to third parties.
Local scan results are updated when you rescan, clean items, or re-enter related features. Information submitted through feedback channels may be retained for the period needed to handle issues and improve the product. You can revoke permissions at any time in Android system settings. After revocation, related scanning features may be unavailable or scan results may be incomplete.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information processed by the app. However, no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. Please review scan results carefully before deleting files to avoid accidental deletion of important content.
